Summer hair care Braid edition

We’ve all seen it – that person walking around with the most beautiful braids you’ve ever seen… until you get a closer look. While the braids may look perfect on the outside, the truth is that when it’s not taken care of underneath, your hair can suffer. That’s why it’s so important to get trims & deep conditioners

in between braiding sessions. Here’s why:

1. Healthier Hair: Trimming your hair regularly helps to get rid of split ends, which can lead to hair breakage. By getting regular trims in between braids, you can help keep your hair healthy and strong.

2. Keep Your Style Fresh: Have you ever taken your braids down to find that they’ve become skimpy or uneven? Getting a trim helps to keep your style looking neat and put together. It also helps to prevent too much weight or length being taken out unevenly due to the braiding technique.

3. Make Your Braids Last: When you get regular trims in between braiding, you can help prevent matting and tangling of your hair. This makes the removal of your braids easier and helps to keep them looking fresh.

It’s important to mention that when you go in for your trim, it should be light – just a dusting to get rid of split ends deep conditioning during the times also helps to smooth hair that is not being cut at that time . Going too heavy on the trim can end up having the opposite effect of what you’re trying to accomplish, and you don’t want to end up losing too much length in between sessions.

At the end of the day, getting a trim and some type of protein an/or conditioning, treatment, in between braiding sessions is an easy way to help keep your hair looking healthy and beautiful. So don’t forget, when you’re getting your next set of braids, make sure you schedule an appointment for a light trim with a deep conditioner as well ! You’ll be thankful once silkpress season comes back around !!

I truly love that you did a braid edition! It’s so easy to get a protective styles and forget to get a trim prior to getting braids. I have had an experience when I just wanted to jump the gun to get braids bc I didn’t want to keep doing natural styles.
